APPLICATIONS
The Stratos Lightwave SM7012-Cxx GBIC (Giga Bit Interface
Converter) connectors provide interconnection solutions for all
of the standard GBIC implementations per SFF 8053 rev 5.2a
for switch, server, disk drive and other short range and long
range data communications applications.
These GBIC guide rails are suitable for Fibre Channel, Gigabit
Ethernet and other GBIC applications as defined in the SFF
8053 document.

DESCRIPTION
The SM7012-Cxx GBIC connectors enable a host platform to
support a wide variety of cable media types and transmission
ranges by plugging in the desired interface converter per the
SDD 8053 specification. The integral ESD ground strap and
alignment system enables blind mating, hot plugging and
provides a secure connection path to system / chassis ground.
Stratos offers horizontal or vertical GBIC connector mounting
options.
Stratos offers a complete line of GBIC modules and guide rails
for optical fiber and copper cable media interfaces. For the
latest specifications of alternate Stratos GBIC components
please consult the Stratos website.
