An optocoupler is an electronic device that is used to isolate two electrical circuits while allowing them to communicate with each other through light. It consists of a light-emitting diode (LED) that emits light when an electric current is passed through it and a photosensitive detector that detects the light and converts it back into an electrical signal. 6N137 is an optocoupler, also known as an opto-isolator, that is designed to transmit electrical signals between two isolated circuits. It consists of an infrared LED and a photodetector that are optically coupled, but electrically isolated. When a signal is applied to the LED, it emits an infrared light that is detected by the photodetector, which then generates an electrical signal that corresponds to the input signal. The output signal is then transmitted to the isolated circuit through an output transistor. Applications: 1. Isolation of high-speed digital signals 2. Industrial automation 3. Medical equipment 4.
